The Gift of Gab
Sometimes I will just talk, and by the end of it, I won't even know how I got there.
Maybe it's the gift of gab, but my children might tell you it's the gift of somethin'.
But all of the talking I have done over the years has blessed me enough to take me to a lot of places.
Whether that is home to my husband or to Times Square, seeing my billboard for the first time, talking has me always going somewhere to see someone.
Sometimes, and if I'm being honest, all of these places can wear me down.
Yes, LaFarris isn't always talking.
Or when I do feel a little flat, that filters into the conversations I have with others that day. When this happens, I walk away wondering if the person I was talking to felt unfulfilled or like they didn't matter to me.
We all have those days because we are human.
But it's up to use to make those days the minority.
In life and business, it's important to pause and ensure we are taking time to genuinely connect with others.
Go beyond the small talk and touch on topics that matter. Focus on learning about one another's struggles, ambitions, values, and beliefs, Make sure that the people you are talking to feel seen, heard, and understood.
If you ask someone how they are, you better mean it.
It's important to remember that every opportunity is an opportunity to build a connection. And then it's up to you to nurture that connection into a relationship.
You just never know how meaningful those relationships can be.
