Becoming a Certified Family Life Educator
I am proud of the decision I made years ago to work with children and families. I became a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) because of all the trauma that happened to me as I was growing up.
As I worked with families, I wanted to have specialized expertise and training to be equipped with knowledge and skills in areas of family dynamics, communication, parenting, and relationship education (to name a few). This allowed me to be more effective with my work with families and in business. I wanted the families that I work with to know that I have credibility so they can trust me; that I have effective practice and evidence-based strategies and interventions in supporting families in diverse contexts. Certification builds trust with clients, employers, and the public by demonstrating a commitment to high standards of practice.
My CFLE certification encompasses knowledge from various disciplines, providing a holistic approach to understanding and addressing family issues today. CFLEs contribute to the well-being of communities by promoting healthy family relationships and addressing social issues related to family life. I advocate for policies and programs that support families by using my expertise to influence positive change at local, national, and international levels.
I am always learning and my certification requires ongoing professional development, ensuring that I stay updated on the latest research and best practices. My certification allows me to have resources, network with other professionals in my community, and with thousands of other professionals. I love that I can give my families resources to grow and thrive in our communities. I personally feel extremely blessed that I chose a field that can help make a difference.
